Angkor Wat is a vast temple complex in Cambodia. In fact it is the biggest religious monument in the world. Originally constructed as a Hindu temple is gradually transitioned into a Buddhist temple at the end of the 12 century.

We visited twice in the same day, first a really early start to see sunrise above the main temple and again in the afternoon to explore more and visit 3 other temples in the complex.

It was good to experience sunrise although it was crowded and lots of people were bunching to get the best photo spots. Pretty early on we realized it was not going to be one of the most visually spectacular sunrises and so we decided to head into the temple and explore before everyone else. This was the best decision, while everyone was still waiting for the perfect sunrise shot we had the main temple to our selves and it was great to walk around and take it all in without anyone else around.
