Dali old town is a walled city dating from the Ming Dynasty and is home to the Bai ethnic minority. Unfortunately for us it rained the entire time we were here and that along with having head colds meant we did not get to explore as much as we could have.
One great thing about Dali though is the options for eating. There are a lot of really good restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops here serving both Chinese and Western foods. The food was a lot better than what was available at the last few places we have visited so we decided to make the most of it and stuff our faces for a few days.
We also walked along the remaining section of the city wall and explored the main streets in town.
