El Chalten is Argentina’s trekking capital with many great trails starting right in the town. Other than trekking there s not to much going on, it is all about getting outdoors and up a mountain, to a lagoon or waterfall.

We had 3 days here to explore. The first day we arrived and went for a short hike to a waterfall, nothing too strenuous as we were saving ourselves for the following days hike. The 22km round trip to and from Laguna de los Tres, described as demanding with a very tough 1.5km ascent to the top…. they were not lying!

The final day we took a short hike to a mountain / glacier view point…. the scenery here is amazing.
