The biggest attraction is the grand Mysore Palace which is really interesting to walk around. Our tour guide was slightly crazy and really enjoyed shouting at other visitors who were trying to take photos inside.

Inside the palace there are many grand halls and mural paintings depicting local life under the rule of the kingdom. The Palace is incredibly opulent, so much gold and fantastic craftsmanship throughout from the smallest delicate inlays in the wooden doors to the grand decorated columns and stained glass.

After visiting the palace we went to see the big statue of Nandi (bull) on Chamundi Hill. The bull is the vehicle/mount for the god Shiva and one of the reasons cows are so sacred in India.
