Casco Viejo is the name of Panama’s Old Town, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Its is a really nice place to walk around, lots of restaurants, bars, shops and galleys to look at. You also get amazing views of the new Panama City skyline.
Getting there is simple just jump in a taxi. The area around the old town is not safe, but once in you are perfectly safe.
There is a lot of renovation taking place at the moment, most of the buildings are currently just facades that are being preserved while the old crumbling buildings behind are being replaced with new modern spaces.
The only thing that does not look good about this place is the highway that circles it out at sea.
