Right outside the Marina Bay Sands hotel you can find the excellent Gardens by the Bay. This is a great free activity to do in the city, the gardens are really nice to walk around, and you can also buy tickets for a few attractions at the site like the two big bio-domes (think Eden Project in England) or the sky walk.

We opted to do the sky walk as it gave great views and lets you get up close to the massive man-made super trees which as well as being great sculptures are also vertical gardens.

We found a nice cafe in the gardens for coffee and cake and finished the day off with a trip to The Long Bar at Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling… This is the 100th year anniversary of the Singapore Slings creation and it was nice to be in the bar that invented it. Loved the decoration in here from the dark wood colonial vibe with cool fans on the ceilings to all the monkey nut shells on the floor.

Later it was back on the MTR train to our appartement.
