Bus journey to Santiago. When we arrive we go for a walk to get some dinner and have some drinks
Take the Free walking tour of Santiago, which was awesome. Our tour guide was excellent, both informative and funny in the right proportions.
For lunch we tried a local dish consisting of chips covered in a layer of steak and sausage, covered in a layer of onions and topped with two fried eggs.
Our last day Santiago and South America. Spent the morning posting some stuff home and exploring a few more parts of the city. Had a really nice burger for lunch at a place called Back Stage.
Afternoon spent relaxing and packing for our flight to New Zealand
This day was lost due to our flight and the change in time zones between Chile and New Zealand
Arrived in Auckland, NZ. Picked up the hire car and made our way to the hotel. Spent the rest of the day exploring and picking up supplies.
We also checked out the harbour, fish market and Auckland museum
Day trip to Waiheke Island on the Taste of Waikehe Tour. Here we spent the day travelling between vineyards sampling and buying the local produce. Italian restaurant for dinner followed by taking night shots of the city skyline.
Morning spent in Auckland, however due to the marathon closing down the roads we were unable to get to where we wanted to go so after a small detour for lunch we started driving up north to Paihia, our gateway to the Bay of islands
