Continuing our adventure in Patagonia.

Flights from Ushuaia to Buenos Aires and then Buenos Aires to Bariloche, tiring, but we did manage to get exit aisles on both flights which was nice for my long legs… result!

Arrived in Bariloche, not quite what we were expecting much more of an Argentinian holiday / party destination than we though it would be. Town is full of chocolate shops and restaurants, live music and car horn honking late into the night. You don’t stay for the town though its all the activities and scenery on its doorstep that make it an ideal place to be.

Headed to Cerro Campanario to ride the ski lift to a nice viewing platform providing excellent views of the lake.

Today we hired some bikes and cycled the Chico circuit. This is a road based cycle that takes you around  Lake Moreno and the Llao Llao Peninsula. The hire bikes gears were not amazing and that made some of the hills tough, but the coming back down was fun. We stopped to have lunch on a lake beach and grabbed a coffee from a nice cafe on the way round.

Hired a car and drove the 7 lakes circuit. Driving in Argentina is fun, especially in a Renault Clio on unpaved mountain roads in the dark!

Amazing views on this trip and we got to have dinner at the very nice town of San Martin de los Andes.

Small hike in Bariloche to Cerro Llao Llao with spectacular views across the lakes.

Arrived in Puerto Varas, checked into our first Airbnb accommodation of the trip… very odd/interesting and explored the town before grabbing an early night.

Navigated our way to see waterfalls at the foot of Orsono volcano using some local minibus transportation, strange indeed but the views were worth it.

Evening concert from El Puma, some famous crooner from Venezuela, free outdoor event put on by the casino to celebrate its 45th anniversary. Very random indeed. Old man, too much plastic surgery, dancing girls and lots of old women in the crowd swooning!
