Second week of G Adventures Ecuador experience

Day spent relaxing around the town of Puerto Lopez, taking a stroll down the beach, eating food and chilling out

Trip to Isla de la Plata, The Poor Mans Galapagos. On the island we hike to try to find different species of sea birds, the best of which were the Blue Footed Boobies. After the hike back on the boat for a little snorkeling / swimming and then sailing home through a pod of over 100 dolphins…. pretty awesome.

Catch a taxi to take us to Los Frailes beach, this is a really nice long stretch of sand with warm waters and big waves. The sea was perfect for cooling down and escaping the heat from the sun.

Long bus journey back to Quito. Take the cable car to try and get great views of the city. Unfortunately just as we arrive at the top the clouds roll in and any chance of a good view was lost.

We start our Home Stay in the highlands community of San Clemente. Arriving just in time for lunch we settle in and meet our host families for the next couple of days. In the evening we are treated to a cultural evening of traditional dress, music, singing and dancing

In the morning we get involved with daily life chores. We learn how to make corn flower, plow a field, milk a cow and feed the alpacas.

After a picnic lunch we hike into the hills for some amazing views.

We wake early say good bye to our host families and take the bus to Otavalo. upon arrival we take a quick orientation walk around the town and visit the market to buy all sorts of souvenirs.
