From Ecuador to Panama
Saturdays in Otavalo are very busy as the town plays host to the biggest street market in South America. We had the morning to explore and get a little lost in the market before we had to catch the bus back to Quito.
In the evening out for dinner and drinks to celebrate the end of our G Adventures tour and to say goodbye to our new friends.
Final day in Ecuador, nice lunch and a walk in a park followed by coffee and an early night as we needed to be up early to pack for our flight to Panama.
From Ecuador to Panama City, once we land we grab a taxi and head for our hotel.
We take the metro and head to the Albrook Mall to take a look. This is Panama City’s biggest shopping mall. It is not a luxury mall and is a bit dated. However, it did contain an excellent cinema and we took the opportunity to see Kingsmen.
Today we explore Panama City’s Historic old town. Really nice place to walk around and take pictures of. There is a lot of restoration going on in this area. a lot of the buildings are now only facards while the spaces behind are being pulled down and rebuilt.
you cannot come to Panama and not take a look at the canal. So we head for the Miraflores Locks to watch super tankers start their journey from the Pacific ocean into the canal.
Both of us feeling a little under the weather so spend the morning relaxing in the hotel. Afternoon spent doing a little shopping and in the evening we start watching the Game of Thrones Season 4 marathon.
