Our trip to the Whitsundays was organised by STA Travel (tour – Awesome foursome)

It was really nice after the madness of all our adventure activities in Cairns to just get away from it all for a few days.

Staying on Adventure island (South Mole island) could not have been more relaxing as there was nobody there, we pretty had the whole island to ourselves. The resort was a little rundown and a shadow of its former self (big party island in the 90’s) due to being hit by a big cyclone and not quite recovering.

First up on day one another trip out to the Great barrier reef for more snorkeling and swimming with fishes. This time our reef platform was at Knuckle reef. Although not as good as Moore Reef we still had a great time and got to see loads of cool stuff.

Day two was a day sailing aboard The Pride of Airlie. Stopping off at the famous Whitehaven beach to check out the almost pure silica sands.

Day three was a full day sailing around the Whitsundays on the Camira, a fast purple catamaran.

Day four was spent relaxing on daydream island, not part of the STA tour, but only a short boat ride from Adventure Island. Daydream island is in much better condition and all the pools and facilities were open for us to enjoy.
