Xian is the city at the east end of the Silk Road and the oldest of the four great capitals of ancient China. The heart of the city is surrounded by a giant city wall which you can walk or cycle around. It is nice to escape the hustle and bustle below and get a different perspective on this busy city from the top of the wall.

We also took a walk around the Muslim quarter famed for its street food, really interesting place to walk and see all the weird and wonderful foods on offer
